Import Customers
Use a customer import to bring in a contact list or update existing customer details.
Select Customers in Import & Data. Use these seven columns in this order, retaining optional columns even when blank:
Account Number,Customer,Name,Last Name,Email,Phone,Address
CUST001,Example Company,Sam,Example,sam@example.com,0123456789,"10 Main Road, Example Town"
Account numbers determine the match
Account Number is required. If that number already exists in the business, PiggyZen updates that customer; otherwise it creates a new customer. Use consistent account numbers in this file and in later income imports.
Customer is the customer or company name. Name and Last Name hold the person's details. Email, Phone and Address are optional contact information.
Updating an existing customer replaces the imported contact fields. Blank fields can clear details already saved; the import is not a “fill in missing information” operation.
What this import does not bring across
This format has no fields for opening balances, invoices, tax numbers or currency choices. Review those separately in the customer and accounting workflows. Importing a contact list does not create money owed by customers.
Follow the shared CSV rules, review the result and check a few customer records after importing. For everyday customer management, see Customers.
