Reports

Choose a report according to the question you need to answer, then check its dates and filters.

Use Refresh where shown after changing filters, before downloading the report. Most report downloads are PDFs; the Ledger Account Statement also offers CSV. Some reports are unavailable in the Free edition.

Accounting Reports

  • Balance Sheet: shows assets, liabilities and equity at the selected date. Use it to review the business's position at a point in time.
  • Income Statement: shows income and expenses for a date range. Use it to review the result for a month, year or other period.
  • Cash Flow Statement: summarises cash movements for a date range. Profit and money in the bank answer different questions, particularly when invoices or bills remain unpaid.
  • Ledger Accounts: shows entries for a selected account and period. Choose Show total for period for the period's movements, or Show balance with BBF to include the balance brought forward. This is useful for checking a bank, expense or liability account.

Location filters are available on several reports. The current Cash Flow Statement is business-wide even when a location selector is displayed.

Financial Reports

Invoices lists PiggyZen invoices for the selected dates, including the invoice number, customer and amount. Use a customer statement when you need the customer's payments and account balance as well.

External Invoices (Other Income) covers entries recorded through Other Income. It can show all entries, those with sales tax or those without sales tax. Check this report when investigating imported or externally recorded sales rather than looking only in the PiggyZen invoice list.

Customer & Vendor Reports

  • Customer Statement: shows a customer's account activity over a date range and aged balances. The business's Customer Credit Period setting is used in ageing.
  • Customer Balances: shows customer balances at a selected end date, useful for reviewing amounts still on customer accounts.
  • Vendor Report: shows records for a chosen vendor and date range. Use it to review activity against that supplier.

Tax and salary reports

The Sales Tax Report reviews tax detail recorded through the relevant transaction workflows for a selected period. It currently has no menu shortcut: while signed in, open /repsalestax on your PiggyZen application's website. Direct journals to tax ledger accounts do not supply the same tax-detail records.

Employee salary reporting is available through Employee Management. See Payroll Runs & Payslips for individual run documents. These records support your accountant's work; PiggyZen does not submit payroll returns to tax authorities.

If the figures look wrong

First check the business, dates, location and account selected. Confirm that invoices have been published and bills received, rather than left as drafts. Then use the Ledger Account Statement or transaction views to trace missing entries, duplicates and unexpected account choices.

For bank differences, compare the same ending date and include the brought-forward balance. See Bank Reconciliation.
