SALES & INCOME
Customers
Keep one customer record for each business or person you sell to, so their documents and payments stay together.
Details that matter
- Customer identifies the business or customer. Name and Last Name hold the contact person’s details.
- Email is optional, but is needed to email quotations or invoices directly from PiggyZen. You can still download a PDF without it.
- Account Number is your customer reference. Sales imports use this value to identify customers, so keep it consistent with the system you import from.
- Address and Tax Number provide the customer details used on sales documents. Check these before publishing.
Choose the currency before saving
A customer’s currency can be selected when the customer is created, but is read-only when editing an existing record. Quotations and invoices use the customer’s currency; foreign-currency documents also have an exchange rate.
When receiving a payment for a foreign-currency customer, select the matching currency and check the exchange rate. The payment screen checks the currency against the customer record.
Avoid duplicate records
Use the customer list’s filters to check for an existing customer before creating another. Reuse that record on invoices, payments and refunds. In Record Income, linking a customer is optional; link one when you want the sale associated with them.
The Free edition limits the number of customers. PiggyZen displays a message when that limit is reached.
