SALES & INCOME
Other Income
Record Income creates a sales entry. Receive Payment records money received against a customer account.
Record Income
Use this for sales income that has not already been recorded through a PiggyZen invoice, such as a sale documented in another system. It records the income without creating a PiggyZen invoice.
- Paid to: the account receiving the funds.
- Sales tax: select the applicable configured taxes, then check the amounts including and excluding tax. These amounts are linked; they are not two separate charges.
- COGS: cost of goods sold. A positive value records a cost and reduces inventory value. Leave it at zero when no goods cost applies.
- Customer: optional; link the sale to an existing customer when appropriate.
- External invoice link: an optional reference to a document held elsewhere, rather than a request to create an invoice.
For foreign-currency income, review the selected currency and exchange rate. If you arrived here during bank reconciliation, the account, date, amount and description may already be filled from the statement line.
Receive Payment
Use this when a customer pays money towards their account, including a payment for sales already invoiced. Link the correct customer and record the amount actually received into the selected account. This changes the customer account balance without recording another sale.
For a payment with a particular invoice reference, start from Invoices & Payments → Payment. For a general account payment, use Other Income → Receive Payment.
If the sale was already entered by publishing an invoice or importing sales income, do not record it again through Record Income.
